JUST IN: Jomoro MP Puts Young Trader Behind Bars For Exchanging Words With His Wife
The Member of Parliament for the Jomoro Constituency Hon. Paul Essien has in a classic show of political power prevented a bail application by the NDC Constituency Chairman Anthony Armah.
Ibrahim Adams who had verbal exchanges with the wife of the Hon. Member of Parliament for the area three days ago at his Multi TV dealership at Tikobo Number 1 over why he used the title “Madam” on her, provoked her and generated exchanges between them.
The arrest was made by the Tikobo Police Station and the accused quickly transferred to the Half Assini District Police Headquarters on the orders of the MP.
Several attempts by the Jomoro Constituency NDC to seek bail for their member has proven futile by the police on grounds of a call from above.
The Jomoro NDC executives who were at the police station this afternoon to solidarize with Ibrahim Adams were appalled and gravely disappointed by the blatant abuse of power, intimidation, and exercise of authoritarianism in the Constituency by the Member of Parliament.
They however condemned the detention orchestrated by the Member of Parliament over minor verbal exchanges which they say was triggered by the wife of the MP and described the act as unrefined, backwardness, and defeatist.
