Dawn attacks: I’m innocent – Upper Dixcove Chief
The Paramount Chief for Upper Dixcove in the Ahanta West Municipality, Obrempong Himan Dekyi, has rejected claims he is behind the attack on the paramount chief of the Lower Dixcove Nana Kwesi Agyemang and his subjects Monday dawn.
Obrempong Dekyi’s comments come after police declared him wanted linking him to the attack.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Empire News, Obrempong Himan Dekyi denied having any hand in Monday’s assault on the Paramount chief of. Lower Dixcove in the fishing community.
“I have not run away as claimed by the police, I am at home in Takoradi, it is incumbent on Nana Kwesi Agyemang and his cohorts to prove beyond reasonable doubt that I Obrempong Himan Dekyi orchestrated their attack, my lawyers are preparing to meet the police over their invitation,” he told Emmanuel Ohene-Gyan.
Almost all the chiefs who were assaulted have told the police they were taken to the palace of Obrempong Himan Dekyi where they were subjected to severe beatings and taken hostage as well.
Scores of people can be spotted in Dixcove discussing the issue. Nana Kwesi Agyemang and his subjects are currently receiving medical attention at the Effia Nkwanta hospital amidst heavy security presence.
