Mrs Dora Asare, District Education Director for Afigya Kwabre South has underscored the adoption of the double track system by government as a great relief to the current system of education in Ghana hence the need for all to embrace it.
She made this indication after considering the objectives of the policy including the creation of enough room to accommodate increase in enrollment, reduction in class sizes, increase in contact hours, increase in the number of holidays among others, stressing further that the system will again help in the reduction of unemployment rate among teachers since most of them will be recruited in the process.
Speaking to THE PRESS RADIO, Mrs Dora Asare called on detractors to refrain from reading political meanings into it as though it is a new policy invented by government.
She raised a strong defense that the intervention was adopted and that it is practiced by several countries including Costa Rica, Germany, Australia, Kenya, Japan among a lot of countries.
She therefore called on parents to make good use of the academic opportunity in question and get their children enrolled.
