Watch as Le Havre fans chant Dede Ayew’s name after the club survives relegation

Ghanaian forward Andre Dede Ayew was hailed by Le Havre fans after the club defeated Strasbourg 3-2 to escape relegation in the French Ligue 1.

Andrey Santos scored the first goal in the 20th minute, with Sebastian Nanasei doubling the lead in the 53rd minute for the home side to go 2-0 up.

Abdoulaye Toure scored two goals to level the game. In the dying embers of the game, Josue Casimir scored the winning goal to seal 3-2 victory for Le Havre.

The triumph salvaged the club from relegation as they finished in 15th position with 34 points, just one point ahead of the 16th-placed team, Reims.

After the match, Ayew, together with his teammates, poured onto the streets to celebrate with the club fans, who were enthused by the team’s performance.

In a viral video on X, the fans were singing and chanting Ayew’s name in unison, saying “Andre Ayew! Andre Ayew!” to appreciate his efforts in helping the team.

The 35-year-old played 27 games for the team in the 2024/2025 season, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

However, Andre’s contract with the club expires at the end of the season, with his future yet to be decided.
