Woman operates baby factory, hires men to Impregnate teenagers

Elsewhere, ‘baby factories’ are run by mafia groups who sell the children for illegal adoption, child labour, child prostitution and sometimes for rituals purposes.

However, we must be aware that baby factories are connected to human trafficking and other related organised crimes.

According to reports, Police have arrested two women for allegedly operating a baby factory in Agbado, in the Ogun State in Nigeria.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, said the suspects, identified as Christiana d’Ivoire and Margaret Ogwu, were arrested on August 27, 2022, following information received by police.

The police PRO said; “Preliminary investigation revealed that Margaret Ogwu was one of the girls harboured by Christiana d’Ivoire who employed the service of a man to impregnate her and collected the child on delivery which she sold at the rate of N400,000 to one of her customers.”

The suspect also confessed to the police that she has sold up to three children from different women to her different customers.

The source disclosed that; Police officers rescued 19 pregnant girls (between the ages of 15 and 28 years) and a day-old baby. The policemen were able to arrest the caregivers, nurse to the captors and the operators of the hotels in which the pregnant girls were hidden.
