Two arrested for illegal possession and discharge of firearms at funeral

The Western North Regional Police Command, Sehwi Wiawso, has arrested two individuals in connection with the illegal possession and discharge of firearms during a funeral at Attakrom in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality.

On April 2, 2025, the police, working alongside personnel from the Formed Police Unit, apprehended Frank Afoko, 41, and Kojo Agyapong, 31.

Their arrest followed an investigation into a viral video from March 14, 2025, which showed individuals at the funeral grounds in Attakrom, near Bibiani, openly possessing and discharging firearms.

The suspects, after being arrested, were interrogated by the regional investigation team, led by the crime officer. They admitted to being the individuals featured in the viral video.

Both suspects are currently in custody, assisting with further investigations.

The police have also launched efforts to apprehend other individuals who were seen in the viral footage and remain at large.
