This is how much Fameye paid Akuapem Poloo to twerk to his song

Ghanaian actress and socialite Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, has revealed that musician Fameye once paid her GH¢5,000 to twerk in videos promoting his music.

Speaking on Joy Prime’s Changes on July 23, 2025, Poloo said she began receiving payments from artistes after gaining attention on social media.

“Stars would call me to dance or twerk to their songs and they would pay me. Even Fameye was giving me GH¢5,000 to twerk on his song,” she stated.

Poloo also opened up about her challenging rise to fame, admitting that she once paid people to insult her online in order to attract public attention.

“At first when I started, I was paying for people to insult me for about a year. I had been in the game, but no one was calling me. I wasn’t getting anything, but after that, people were calling me for interviews and skin care deals,” she said.

She credited the controversial strategy for helping her land brand endorsements and media features.

Reflecting on her early acting career, Poloo said she earned as little as GH¢20 for some roles, with the exception of her work on GBC’s Obra series, where she received better treatment thanks to veteran actress Maame Dokono.

“With the acting, it was GH¢20. But with GBC, they gave me something better because of legendary Maame Dokono. She took good care of us,” she added.
