Three robbery suspects killed in shootout with Tema Police

The Tema Regional Police Command has confirmed the deaths of three armed robbery suspects following a gun battle at Kpone in the Tema Industrial Area.

According to a statement signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs, the incident occurred on July 21, 2025, after police responded to a distress call about ten armed men breaking into a warehouse.

A police patrol team engaged the suspects in a shootout, resulting in three fatalities.

 

The remaining suspects, some believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, fled the scene.

Recovered from the suspects were a Bruni Mod foreign pistol, a locally manufactured double-barrelled pistol with two rounds of ammunition, and 11 live BB rounds.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for identification and autopsy.

The statement commended officers of the Kpone District Command for their swift response, while investigations continue to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
