Police officers attached to the Nkawie Divisional Command have arrested a 25-year-old man, identified as Francis Nsiah, following an alleged attempted robbery at Manso Nkwanta in the Ashanti Region.
The arrest forms part of police efforts to clamp down on suspected robbery activities in the area and protect residents and commuters who use roads around Manso Nkwanta.
According to reports, the suspect was apprehended after police received information about an attempted robbery operation in the area. Officers subsequently moved in to investigate the incident, leading to Nsiah’s arrest.

In a related robbery operation along the Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta stretch, police previously acted on intelligence that armed suspects had gathered in a bush to attack commuters. Officers who responded to the intelligence encountered four armed suspects, two of whom sustained gunshot injuries while two others escaped into the bush. Police recovered firearms and ammunition as well as a vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects.
The latest arrest therefore comes amid continuing security operations targeting suspected criminals operating around the Manso Nkwanta and surrounding communities.
The police have not indicated whether Nsiah has been formally charged before a court or whether additional suspects are being pursued in connection with the latest incident.
He is expected to remain in police custody while investigations continue. Authorities will determine the appropriate charges based on evidence gathered during the investigation.
