Eid: Pray for the prosperity of Ghana – Bawumia to Muslims

Vice President Dr Mahamaudu Bawumia has extended felicitations to all Muslims on the occasion of the celebration of Eid-ul-fitr urging them to pray for the prosperity of the nation.

He congratulated all those in the Muslim faith for the successful completion of this year’s fast.

In a statement on Friday, June 15, Dr Bawumia said: “All praise be to Allah, The Most High, The Most Merciful. I congratulate my fellow Muslims in Ghana on the successful completion of this year’s fasting.

“As we celebrate the Eid, we must remember the important sacrifices we made in the holy month of Ramadan and continue to be guided by the same values of sharing, caring and praying for prosperity for our nation.”

Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-ul Fitr today.

Eid al-Fitr is the religious holiday which marks the end of Ramadan and a month of fasting for Muslims.

It marks the end of 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.

Eid Mubarak is a greeting and phrase used by Muslims during Eid and means ‘blessed Eid’.

The day will begin with Muslim prayers across the country followed by merry making.
