Rapper, Stormzy banned from driving in UK

Well-known British rapper Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr better known as Stormzy has been prohibited from driving in the United Kingdom for nine months.

After an off-duty police officer in London discovered the musician using a cell phone while operating a Rolls-Royce, the Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court banned him on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Stormzy pleaded guilty in writing to driving while using the device in West Kensington on March 7, 2024, and was given the ban by District Judge Andrew Sweet.

Andrew Sweet criticized Stormzy’s “dangerous and irresponsible” behavior and pointed out that his driving record was “not good.”

In a previous report, the rapper and Love Island host, Maya Jama issued a joint statement on Instagram, stating that they had been attempting to make their relationship work since they reunited in 2023.

They said, “We tried, and it didn’t work, and that’s okay.”

The post started: “We’ve been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a breakup.

But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that’s needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to.”
