One in critical condition as Land guards exchange gunshots with masons

One person is battling for his life following a gun battle between Construction workers and a group of people believed to be land guards at Awutu Bonsuoko in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The unfortunate incident happened Thursday evening around 5:30 PM.

According to police, the construction workers were casting concrete when this group numbering four on motorbike stormed the site to stop them from working.

In an interview with Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan the Senya Bereku District Police Commander ASP Kingsley Asirifi Asante revealed that in the ensuing gun battle the construction workers who had more firepower were able to subdue the land guards which left one of the latter sustain gutshot wounds and in critical condition.

He indicated that the victim has been rushed to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital where he’s receiving treatment.
