Controversial marriage counsellor, Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counselor Lutterodt, has asked Ghanaians to see the brighter side of the deadly coronavirus.

He told Sokoohemaa Kukua on the mid-morning show that the deaths recorded in Italy is only bad news but good news for Africans and especially Ghanaians who would be seeking for greener pastures in that country.

He was of the view that after the pandemic is over, there would be vacancies all over the globe especially in the countries where more deaths have been recorded.

He, therefore, admonished Ghanaians to brace themselves for the opportunities ahead since visa application would be much easier than before.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has hinted the number of infections globally will reach a million within days.

The Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has said he is “deeply concerned” by the spread of coronavirus as the pandemic closes in on 1,000,000 cases and 50,000 deaths worldwide.

“As we enter the fourth month since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, I am deeply concerned about the rapid escalation and global spread of infection,” Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday.

“Over the past five weeks, we have witnessed a near exponential growth in the number of new cases, reaching almost every country. The number of deaths has more than doubled in the past week.”

Currently, 938,179 cases have been confirmed with 47,272 deaths.

As of the 1st April 2020, Ghana has recorded 195 cases COVID-19 with five (5) deaths. The number of regions reporting cases remains five (5) (Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern, Upper West and Eastern).

The Greater Accra Region has the most cases (174) followed by the Northern Region (10), Ashanti Region (9), Upper West Region (1) and Eastern Region (1).
