The 2024 Running Mate of the NPP, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, has incurred the wrath of netizens due to remarks he made in a viral video, leading him to top the trends on X for August 14.

Other topics that have found their way to the top of the trends are Gabby, Atta Mills, Mahama and Free SHS.

Here’s a breakdown of the trending topics:

1. NAPO:

A video which is fast going viral on social media captured NAPO listing what past presidents of the country have achieved.

However, his attempt to remember the name of the late Prof. Atta Mills caused him to make some comments which have sparked outrage online.

2. Gabby:

Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko’s interview on Channel One TV’s Face to Face program has gained attention, especially his comments on the achievements of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and how he will be recognised after he leaves office.

3. Atta Mills:

Netizens are bashing NAPO for allegedly disrespecting Atta Mills after he made a slip while referring to the achievements of the late president.

4. Mahama:

Mahama is still in the trends after the NDC youth manifesto launch.

His policies like the no academic fees policy for first-year tertiary students’, and the cancellation of the E-Levy and Betting Tax have caused debates on social media.

Free SHS:
