Mahama, Prof. Jane, Ibrahim Mahama and other NDC bigwigs attend Edward Annan’s 80th birthday celebration

A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edward Annan, celebrated his 80th birthday with President John Dramani Mahama and other prominent government figures in attendance.

The event, held on February 22, 2025, in Accra, brought together several government appointees to honor one of the party’s veteran personalities.

Notable attendees included Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Defence Edward Omane Boamah, businessman and presidential brother Ibrahim Mahama, among others.

Dressed in an all-white kaftan, President Mahama joined Annan to cut the cake as attendees celebrated the life and achievements of one of their own.

Edward Annan is a Ghanaian entrepreneur, politician, and art collector. He co-founded and co-owns Passion Air, a domestic airline in Ghana.

As an NDC member, Annan previously served as board chairman of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital during the tenure of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

Widely regarded as a key financier of the NDC, Annan has played a significant role in the party’s successes over the years.
