LEAKED Document: NDC reschedules Presidential Primaries from Dec.7 this year, to March 3 2019

Former President John Dramani Mahama and all the other aspirants of the NDC party will know their fate by March 3, 2019, when the party holds its presidential and Parliamentary primaries according to a leaked document from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) intercepted by MyNewsGh.com.

It is gathered that the party will hold its Presidential Candidate Elections on March 3rd, 2019 according to a proposition by the newly elected National Executives of the party.

The proposition that has been unanimously endorsed took into consideration the cost of holding separate primaries for which reason the leadership wants both the Presidential and Parliamentary held the same day.

A draft election timetable intercepted by our correspondents indicate that both Presidential and Parliamentary Candidates who qualify after vetting will be given about 7 weeks to campaign across the country engaging delegates on voter education on the ballot.

The NDC’s Presidential and Parliamentary primaries will be a historic one in Ghana’s democracy since about 270,000 delegates are expected to vote on the day. That number will be the highest ever to participate in a limited delegates elections within a political party.

The party per the timetable is planning to conduct the elections in all the 275 constituencies simultaneously.

About 11 persons including Mr. Kweku Ricketts Hagan are contesting to become the flagbearer on the tickets of the NDC together with Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah, Prof Joshua Alabi, Sylvester Mensah, Goosie Tandoh, former President John Dramni Mahama and Stephen Atubiga.
