SHS selection for private BECE candidates begins

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has opened window for candidates who sat for the private Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in February 2018 to register to be placed for the 2018/2019 senior high school selection.

A statement from the public relations unit of GES urged candidates to “visit www.waecinternetsolution.org to go through the school selection process to be considered for placement for the 2018/2019 academic year”.

The private BECE, which is organized by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), offers an opportunity for candidates of previous examinations to improve their grades.

The 2017/2018 edition was conducted on Monday, February 12 in 42 centres across the country, allowing re-sitters and those not affiliated to any school but wish to take the exams for the first time to write.

It was first introduced in 2014.

The GES has further urged candidates to carefully read the guidelines for the selection of schools before they start the process.

Deadline for the selection as indicated in the statement is Monday, July 2, 2018.
