Islamic Scholar sets record as 1st Ghanaian to attain doctorate in Islamic studies and IT in Saudi Arabia

Dr. Abdul-Muhsin Tanko Shamun, CEO of Hybrid Leading-Edge Company Limited has emerged as the first Ghanaian to receive doctorate degree with distinction in Islamic Studies and Information Technology from the Asian branch of Rabbanien University.

He was honored with a citation on Saturday, 17th August, 2024 in Jeddah-Saudi Arabia by executives of Al Sanad Charitable Foundation.

Dr. Adel Al Asiry, CEO for the  Foundation presented the citation to him for earning the monumental achievement.

Portion of the content of the citation reads;

to extend their sincere congratulations and best wishes to Sheikh

Dr. Abdul-Muhsin Tanko Shamun Baafi for obtaining a doctorate degree with excellent grade in Information Technology and Islamic Studies from Rabbanien University”.

Speaking to this medium, Dr. Abdul-Muhsin thanked the executives for the honor done to him.

He said, the attainment of Doctorate degree in Islamic Studies and IT will not retire his zeal for more academic knowledge.

He said he will go extra miles so as to broaden his knowledge on Islam studies and other fields of education so as to make meaningful impact in society.

Dr. Abdul-Muhsin attended Asawasi M/A Primary and JHS in Kumasi, combining Arabic and English studies.

He also attended Nurul-Ameen Islamic School at Asawasi as well as Kumasi Technical High School.

He studied Information Technology at University of Education, Winneba in Kumasi via NIIT college and obtained his Master’s Degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, College of Science Department of Information Technology.

Dr. Abdul-Muhsin undertook further studies at the Faculty of Sharia at the Islamic University of Madina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he obtained lessons of famous scholars of the Madinah Prophetic Mosques, such as: Sheikh Abdul Mohsen Abbad Badr, Sheikh Abu Baker , Al-Jazairi of blessed memory , Sheikh Mukhtar Mohammed Al-Amin Al-Shanqeeti and among others.

Dr. Abdul-Muhsin is the Imam and preacher at Dar Al-Hijra Mosque Adukrom, Lebanese Mosque kaase and some other mosques in Ghana.

He has preached in many countries such as Germany, America, Bangladesh, Nigeria among others.
