‘In Kudus we trust’ – Arsenal fans ‘beg’ West Ham United to beat Man City on Sunday

In the wake of Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Arsenal supporters have shifted their hopes to Mohammed Kudus and his West Ham colleagues to rescue their 2023/2024 campaign.

The Gunners had pinned their hopes on their North London rivals to do them a favour by either defeating or drawing with Manchester City. However, a double from Erling Haaland ensured that City surpassed them in the title chase.

With the 2023/2024 Premier League season concluding on Sunday, May 19, 2024, Arsenal is counting on West Ham United to disrupt Manchester City’s season by securing a draw or victory.

Should the aforementioned scenarios occur, coupled with an Arsenal triumph over Everton, it would secure Mikel Arteta’s team their first league championship in two decades.

Consequently, Arsenal enthusiasts, including prominent New Patriotic Party member Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, have appealed to Mohammed Kudus via social media to conjure some magic against Manchester City.

Following the Tottenham vs. Manchester City match on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Otchere-Darko expressed his faith in Kudus with a tweet stating, “In Kudus I trust.”

This tweet is among numerous pleas directed at the West Ham United striker to deliver a career-defining performance that could assist his compatriot Thomas Partey in clinching his inaugural league title in England.

Mohammed Kudus, who was runner-up for West Ham’s Player of the Season, had a remarkable first season in England, netting seven goals and contributing six assists for West Ham. He also topped the league in successful dribbles for the season.

In total, Kudus has tallied thirteen goals across all competitions for West Ham and earned the distinction of being named the second-best player in the Hammers’ season-end accolades.
