‘I Spent 1 Hour and 45 minutes in Heaven’ – Duncan-Williams recounts spiritual experience
Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, has recounted what he described as a remarkable spiritual experience during which he spent one hour and 45 minutes in heaven.
The renowned Ghanaian preacher shared the account during a church service, describing an experience in which he believed he was taken out of his physical body and transported into a spiritual realm.
According to Duncan-Williams, an angel took him to what he described as a high mountain. He said the surroundings were unlike anything he had experienced on earth, with the grass appearing to shine like diamonds.
The archbishop also recalled encountering Elder Sackey, whom he identified as one of his mentors during his early days in the Pentecostal movement.
Duncan-Williams said the encounter with Elder Sackey was particularly significant to him because of the role the late elder played in his spiritual development.
In recounting the experience, the preacher said Elder Sackey appeared in a beautiful white car. He described the vehicle and the surrounding environment as part of the extraordinary experience he believed he was having.
Duncan-Williams explained that he eventually received permission to return to his physical body after spending what he described as one hour and 45 minutes in heaven.
The preacher used the experience to emphasise the importance of spiritual sensitivity and obedience to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He encouraged members of his congregation to pay attention to God’s direction in their lives and remain committed to their faith.
