‘I only listen to my husband’s songs’ – Simi

Nigerian musician and songwriter Simisola Kosoko, known as Simi, has disclosed that she only listens to songs by her husband, Adekunle Gold, in addition to her own.

During the “Zero Conditions” podcast, the vocalist explained that her preference for Adekunle Gold’s music is due to their marriage.

She expressed, “I don’t listen to anybody’s music. The reason I listen to my husband’s songs is because I’m married to him.” She also mentioned enjoying Post Malone’s first album ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys’ and was a fan of J.Cole.

Simi clarified that she naturally listens to music infrequently, noting that she’s currently immersed in her own album because it’s newly released.

However, she expects her listening habits to shift soon.

Regarding recent social media controversy, Simi faced criticism after sharing a video of herself in a swimsuit participating in the ‘2345678’ TikTok challenge with Adekunle Gold, family, and friends.

Many criticized her in the said video, for dressing inappropriately as a married woman.

In response, Simi posted an apology video, acknowledging her sister’s cautionary advice which she had disregarded.

She apologized to her fans for any disappointment caused and promised to opt for a more modest attire, like a “Kaftan,” for future pool outings.
