Ghana Football will be ready and prepared for a return – Kurt Okraku

GFA President, Kurt Okraku has stated that all safety measures would be taken to ensure the safety and welfare of footballers, officials, media and spectators before the resumption of the game at the end of October.

A full timetable and schedule for 2020/21 GPL season would also be released in due course.

This is in accordance with the easing of restrictions on football by President Nana Addo in his last national address on the state of Covid-19 in Ghana.

Mr Okraku was speaking on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium where heads of Sports Federations were invited to a strategic session on the potential return of contact sports in Ghana.

Meanwhile the Director General of the National Sports Authority Prof Twumasi has assured the Chairman of Ghana Beach Soccer of the full support of his authority as the sand sport also seeks a return in late October/early November.

“Once we have your timetable, we will activate the necessary measures to support your Federation.”

Ampofo Ankrah was among 23 out of the 44 recognized Federation heads who attended the interaction at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday September 22nd.
