Five Mpraeso SHS students remanded for alleged rape, court summons headmaster

Five students from Mpraeso Senior High School have been remanded in police custody for 10 days following allegations of the rape of a female student.

This incident has sparked discussions on the importance of proper reporting channels in schools and ensuring justice is served for victims of sexual assault.

The Nkawkaw District Court presided over by His Worship Isaac Agyei, has ordered the headmaster of Mpraeso SHS, James Affadu, to appear before the court.

The headmaster is expected to explain why the school authorities did not immediately report the case to the police and why representatives of the school were absent during court proceedings.

In addition, the court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of three other students who are still at large.

Agoo FM News Okyɛadeɛba Owusu Aduomi reports that initially, the suspects were discharged due to discrepancies in the charge sheet prepared by the police, but they were quickly rearrested and brought back to court.
