Don’t be fooled, MPs can never construct roads – A.B.A Fuseini

Member of Parliament(MP) for Sagnarigu Constituency, Alhaji A. B. A. Fuseini says no Member of Parliament(MP) can construct roads in his or her constituency.

According to him, Members of Parliament(MPs) promise to construct roads during campaigns with the hope of lobbying for them when they are given the opportunity.

He made this known when he spoke to the media in his constituency after inspecting what he describes as “reshaping” works on some roads in his constituency.

He said the only body that is approved by Law to construct roads is the government.

“That is why we have feeder roads. Urban roads and Ministry of roads. So it for government to construct roads, not an MP. How can an MP use his “pocket money” to construct roads? It is the government who should do that. Roads construction fundamentally is for the government. That is why we pay taxes,” adding that “that is why when NPP in opposition promised to construct some roads in Sagnarigu following a request by them, they couldn’t because it was for the government then to do it”.

Speaking on government’s fulfillment of its much touted “YEAR OF ROADS”, the Member of Parliament noted that the economy has lost its shocks and is currently sitting on a ticking time bomb and therefore although government continues the praise singing, the promise of “YEAR OF ROADS” has been a scam.
