Tipper truck capsizes on Amoako bridge, disrupting movement in Amenfi West

A tipper truck carrying over 700 bags of cocoa beans has capsized on the Amoako bridge in the Amenfi West Municipality, Western Region, causing significant damage to the bridge and disrupting transportation in the area.

The truck, which was travelling from Mumuni to Samreboi, plunged from the repaired but deteriorating bridge, underscoring the unsafe condition of the vital infrastructure. The Amoako bridge is the primary route for residents and a key corridor for transporting cocoa beans to other locations.

Residents report that the bridge has been in a deplorable state for over two years despite repeated calls on authorities to address the issue. The incident has intensified concerns about the safety of commuters and the potential economic impact on cocoa transportation.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded, and the driver of the truck escaped unharmed.
