Chukwueze

Italian Serie A side Bologna are interested in signing Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan during this January transfer window.

Chukwueze’s future has consistently been in the balance in recent weeks despite just joining AC Milan from Villarreal two seasons ago.

Recall that during his time in La Liga, he was quite impressive, registering 37 goals and 31 assists in 207 appearances. He was a constant thorn in the flesh of the top two Spanish teams Real Madrid and Barcelona. He had three goals and two assists against Real Madrid, while he registered three goals and an assist against Barcelona.

Due to his performance in Spain, the Nigeria international was expected to do big things in Italy. However, he has failed to live up to the billing. As such, there have been speculations that he could leave Milan.

The Nigerian forward was heavily linked with a transfer to English Premier League club Arsenal at the turn of the year. However, those talks took a backseat after he suffered a hamstring injury in the final days of 2024.

Still, the speculations have not ended, as other clubs appear to be looking to swoop in for the 25-year-old forward. Now, in a new development per Calciomercato, Bologna are interested in signing Chukwueze from AC Milan. Negotiations have already begun and have been progressing steadily. However, the transfer is tied to other deals.

This is as Milan are also interested in signing Riccardo Orsolini from Bologna this January. Both teams have started negotiations for a deal, but Bologna rejected the first bid of 18 million euros plus Noah Okafor.

The Rossoneri will now want to take advantage of Bologna’s interest in Chukwueze and tempt them by offering Chukwueze on loan until the end of the season.

However, it is unknown if Chukwueze will be willing to move to Bologna on loan, as it would be a step down for him. Nothing has been established, but the deal is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles star has returned to training at AC Milan, and he will return to action in the coming weeks.
