Baba Rahman set for Chelsea departure this summer

Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman could leave Chelsea this summer following reinforcements at the London club.

The player who is currently on loan at Spanish side Real Mallorca is deemed surplus to requirement with Emerson Palmieri and Marcus Alonso the preferred choices for Frank Lampard.

Chelsea are also in the market for another left back, with Leicester City’s Ben Chiwell the identified target.

Reports in the UK suggests Chiwell’s arrival will mean Baba Rahman and Marcus Alonso will be sold to make way for other transfer target.

Marcus Alonso has been linked with a move to Italy with interests from Inter Milan and AS Roma.

Meanwhile, Rahman has struggled with injuries at Mallorca making his permanent stay a difficult decision for the club. The 25-year old has made only three appearances for Mallorca this season.

The ex-Dreams FC player joined Chelsea in 2015 from Bundesliga side Augsburg, but has since been on five loan spells.
