The suspect who was taken to the police station, his caution statement taken and later released on bail was inconsolable after the incident as he wept bitterly over the unfortunate incident.

Officials of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service are currently investigating the matter according to Headteacher of the school Edward Akanzu-Ise.

It is not immediately known what triggered the caning of the pupil of Charity Preparatory School at Bremang UGC in the Suame Municipality of the Ashanti region who was said to storm out of the classroom and headed to Kronum Police Station where she lodged the complaint.

Headteacher of the School Edward Akanzu-Ise according to report on Angel News expressed shock that a girl of that age could take such an action against her teacher, though he admitted that the teacher actually gave her 3 strokes of the cane.

Meanwhile, Defense for Children International a child rights organization is hailing the girl for taking such an initiative which was a violation of her fundamental human rights.
