Ghanaian actor and radio presenter Seth Kwame Dzokoto, popularly known as Kwame Dzokoto, has died after reportedly collapsing shortly after arriving at Owass Radio in Tarkwa in the Western Region.
Dzokoto, 51, had driven himself to the station on Thursday, October 22, 2026, to participate in the morning programme Oman Nkosuo. However, he reportedly became unwell shortly after the broadcast began, prompting colleagues to suspend the programme and rush him to a hospital.
According to the programme’s host, Prince Kwaw Gyimah, the discussion started at approximately 8:45 a.m. before Dzokoto’s condition deteriorated. He was taken to a medical facility in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The circumstances surrounding his sudden death have prompted an outpouring of concern among colleagues, listeners and fans who knew him through his work in entertainment and broadcasting.
Dzokoto was widely recognised for his role as Judge Koboo in the popular Ghanaian television series Efiewura. His performance in the programme made him a familiar face to television audiences and contributed to his reputation as a versatile entertainer.
Beyond acting, he built a career in radio and television presentation. He hosted TV3’s food and tourism programme Edziban, which showcased aspects of Ghanaian cuisine and culture. He also worked with Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi before his reported appearance on Owass Radio in Tarkwa.
His work across different media platforms allowed him to connect with audiences through entertainment, discussion and cultural programming.
Dzokoto was also involved in politics as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general election, extending his public profile beyond the entertainment industry.
In September 2026, he had addressed rumours circulating about his death and spoken publicly about health challenges, including high blood pressure and diabetes. He also disclosed that he had undergone surgery abroad with financial assistance from businessman Ibrahim Mahama.
Although those earlier health disclosures have drawn renewed attention following his death, no official information in the reports reviewed established that the conditions caused his sudden collapse. The medical cause of death had not been formally announced at the time of reporting.
His death has therefore raised questions about what happened during the hours leading up to the broadcast and whether any underlying medical condition contributed to the incident. Those questions remain unresolved pending further official information.
For colleagues in broadcasting and entertainment, Dzokoto’s reported death represents the loss of a familiar personality whose career spanned acting, radio and television presentation, as well as political engagement.
Funeral arrangements and further details concerning the circumstances of his death had not been officially announced in the information available.
