35-Year-Old Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Wife Dead After Domestic Dispute in Northern Region

A 35-year-old man, identified as Kaaku Kofi, has been arrested for allegedly shooting his 32-year-old wife, Naado Adyemang, dead following a domestic dispute at Fulakuma, near Chamba, in the Nanumba North Municipality of the Northern Region.

The incident reportedly occurred on October 23, 2026, leaving the community shocked as details surrounding the fatal confrontation emerged.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly shot his wife in the left side of her chest during an argument. The woman reportedly died at the scene from her injuries.

Preliminary accounts suggest that tensions in the marriage had been building over disagreements involving suspicions of infidelity and issues relating to the suspect’s first wife.

The deceased had reportedly expressed her intention to leave the marriage following the disagreements. However, the circumstances that led to the confrontation and the fatal shooting remain subject to police investigation.

Bifam Janbebu Solomon, the Assembly Member for the Sogon No. 2 Electoral Area, reportedly confirmed the incident to the media, providing details about the killing and the subsequent arrest.

Following the incident, police arrested Kaaku Kofi in connection with the alleged murder. He was subsequently remanded into police custody as investigations continued.

Reports indicate that the suspect was expected to reappear in court on November 9, 2026, as the legal process proceeded.

The incident has once again drawn attention to the serious consequences of domestic disputes and the need for effective interventions when conflicts within relationships escalate.

Domestic violence can involve threats, intimidation and physical harm, and unresolved tensions may place the lives of partners and other family members at risk. The case has therefore renewed calls for people experiencing abuse or threats within relationships to seek assistance from trusted individuals and relevant authorities.

For residents of Fulakuma and surrounding communities, the death of Naado Adyemang represents a tragic loss, while the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

The allegations against the suspect have not yet been established in court. Investigators are expected to examine the events leading to the shooting and gather evidence to support the case before the judicial process determines responsibility.
