A uniformed police officer with the Ghana Police Service has been captured in a video that has gone viral on social media demanding GHC100 from traffic offenders at a police station.

YEN.com.gh do not readily have the video, although we are in possession of screenshots allegedly, from the video.

But in the report that was first Mynewsgh.com, the officer is identified as a member of the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD).

He is reported to have been heard and seen negotiating with the drivers he had earlier accosted for an offence.

The officer, whose name reportedly came up in the video only as ‘E. Adjetey’, mentioned how much he would receive before he allows them to go free.

The report continued that Officer Adjetey insisted he was not taking anything less than the GHC 100 as the suspects claim they had only GHC20 to spare.

In an attempt by one of his accosted to move close in order to convince him, the officer warned that it was a security zone, maintaining that they should go and bring exactly what he demanded.

We cannot confirm if authorities have had access to video. As such, it would be difficult to say if investigations are being done.
