Why this university graduate is calling on Ibrahim Mahama for support

The founder of GH-SIGNBOARD, Richard Osarfo, is urgently seeking support from Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

Osarfo, a graduate of the University of Education, Winneba, aims to reduce road accidents by cleaning and fixing broken signposts.

However, he is struggling to fund his initiative.

In an interview with Victoria Kyei Baffour on GhanaWeb TV’s Everyday People, Osarfo shared his challenges and revealed that Ibrahim Mahama is his top choice for support, citing the businessman’s history of philanthropy.

Osarfo is now calling on Mahama to aid his life-saving endeavour.

“When I started this initiative, Ibrahim Mahama was one of the first people I thought of for support. I’ve admired his philanthropic efforts and believe he could make a significant impact. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to reach him. That’s why I’m appealing to you. I’ve witnessed your kindness toward others, and I humbly ask that you consider supporting my cause. Together, we can reduce accidents and save lives,” he appealed.

Richard Osarfo also explained why he is currently on the streets cleaning and fixing signposts.

After graduating and completing his national service, he read about the high number of accidents in Ghana each year. Realising that many lives were being lost, he founded GH-SIGNBOARD to help address the issue.

“I decided to take up this initiative for Ghana when I realized the number of people dying in accidents. In 2023, 2,300 lives were lost in road crashes, and in 2024, almost 2,000 people have already died.

“Seeing so many Ghanaians losing their lives in accidents gives me sleepless nights, so I decided to fix broken signposts and clean those covered with stickers and posters,” he told GhanaWeb TV.
