NDC opens nominations for Wuogon primaries

The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened nominations for Parliamentary Primaries in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency of the Greater Accra region, ahead of the by-elections.

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) notified the constituency executives in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency to open nomination for the Parliamentary Primaries in accordance with article 41 of the NDC constitution, a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Aseidu Nketia said.

Picking of nominations forms starts from today, Monday 17 to 18 December 2018.

The filing of nomination will be on Friday, 21 December 2018, vetting will be on Saturday, 22 December 2018 and elections on Friday, 28 December 2018.

The cost of nominations forms and filing fees is GHS1,000 and GHS10,000 respectively, with a 50 per cent discount on the filing fees for females and persons with disability.

The Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency parliamentary seat became vacant following the death of the Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Kyeremanten Agyarko.
