‘You’re very stupid’ – Richard Nyamah threatens to beat Sammy Gyamfi

Deputy Communications Director for the ruling NPP Richard Nyamah has threatened to beat up Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi whom he says is insolent and ignorant.

Mr. Nyamah who was part of panelists on TV3’s New Day burst out Tuesday morning after Mr. Gyamfi’s submissions seemingly angered him.

A behind the scene video from the studios of TV3 shows a calm Sammy Gyamfi walking off the set after host of the show Bright Nana Amfoh failed to quieten Richard Nyamah.

The NPP Deputy Communications Director was heard in the video describing Sammy Gyamfi as ‘very stupid’ adding that “I will not come on this programme if this silly boy is going to be here… if you do I’ll assault you and then let’s go to court”.

The show had to be taken off air when Richard Nyamah flared up during Sammy Gyamfi’s submission on the arrest of the two ModernGhana reporters.

According to the NDC Communications Officer, “if ministers he (President Akufo-Addo) has appointed are superintending over the torture of journalists, attacks on media men and we’re calling on those ministers to resign or be suspended pending investigation people say you’re politicizing it… We will not fall for that blackmail”.

Making reference to the latest article of Multimedia journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, Sammy Gyamfi said “under the NDC did you see any journalist murdered in cold blood like Ahmed Suale has been murdered”.

But this statement did not go down well with Richard Nyamah who refused to allow Sammy Gyamfi continue with his submission

Mr Nyamah kept interrupting Sammy Gyamfi saying, “if Ahmed Suale was murdered, he was, that is a criminal act. How do you associate that with the government? Did Akufo-Addo murder Ahmed Suale… the guy has the nerve to sit down and abuse and malign people on programmes and you allow him to”.

After several failed attempt by the host to calm Richard Nyamah down, the show was taken off only to return with the sports segment.
