Host of Adom TV’s Fire for Fire show, Patrick Osei Agyemang has come to the defense of under-fire Kotoko Executive Chairman, Kwame Kyei.

The critical lenses of the club’s fans have been fixated on Kwame Kyei with a myriad of allegations levelled against him.

The sudden resignation of the club’s Accra representative and the legal tango with FIFA and Tunisian side Esperance has dimmed the rather bright light of the Kwame Kyei administration with calls for his exit getting louder each passing day.

Key among the Kyei-out campaigners has been former CEO Jarvis Peprah, who has on several media platforms revealed his unhappiness with the direction of the club under the popular business mogul.

For some of the fans who belong to Peprah’s school of thought on the supposedly downward trajectory of the club, the time has come for Kwame Kyei to pack out of the club and focus on his private business.

On the Monday, March 30 edition of his show, a ballistic Songo lashed out at Kwame Kyei’s critics.

He accused them of speaking with little wisdom and pushing their parochial interest instead of the club’s.

He defended the record of Kwame Kyei which he opines stands tall among some of the people who have managed the club in recent pass.

He claimed that the life patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu is pleased with the state of the club and will not axe Kwame Kyei.

“You use Kotoko money to buy a house at Tech. Did you send Kotoko to the Champions League? During Afranie’s time, you couldn’t even provide enough jerseys for the club in Algeria. People are just talking trash. You think you can do the job”.

“Show appreciation to Kwame Kyei. Over the years we’ve had a lot of chairmen for Kotoko and in three years Kwame Kyei has done great for the club. A lot of people bring losses to the club but Kwame Kyei is not doing that. He runs Kotoko with his money. Otumfuo gave him the club and he trusts him because he does everything for the club. If you are not happy with some members of his management say it but don’t say he is not good”.

“Kotoko players are happy now because he doesn’t owe them. When they alleged that he owed them, he paid them in just a day. He is paying them well. Coaches and players are all enjoying under Kwame Kyei. What he has done in three years is great.
