Yaw Dabo Appeals to President Mahama for Financial Support for Football Academies

Samuel Yaw Dabo, proprietor of Dabo Soccer Academy, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to provide much-needed financial assistance to football academies across Ghana.
Dabo highlighted that many young players face challenges in realizing their potential due to inadequate infrastructure, limited funding, and a lack of essential equipment. He stressed that government investment in grassroots football would not only nurture local talent but also strengthen Ghana’s future in international football.
Speaking on the difficulties academies face, Dabo noted that basic necessities such as training grounds, kits, and medical care for players are often insufficient. He appealed for consistent government support, saying that sustained funding could transform raw talent into world-class athletes.
Furthermore, Dabo urged the President to make youth football development a priority in national sports policy. By directing resources toward underprivileged areas and struggling academies, he believes the government could inspire hope among young athletes and position Ghana as a breeding ground for future football stars.
