Watch video of 86-year-old woman who travelled from USA to support Effutu NDC’s Kofi Annan

An elderly woman turned up at NDC’s 2024 manifesto launch at Winneba in a touching display of support and loyalty to the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Effutu, James Kofi Annan.

The 86-year-old woman said she had travelled down from the United State of America to Ghana, to show love and support for him.

A video shared on X by Elephant News network showed the woman standing in the rain to grant the interview.

“I want to speak. I hail from Effutu, Kofi Annan’s father and mother as well as his grand parent hails from Effutu .They say they don’t like him but we do . We like Kofi Annan a lot. He is wise. We will follow him till the end of the world. Our time is limited. He is the one we will support all the time. He has a vision and God has blessed him. He is sensible. The people of Simpa are happy.

“A good thing is coming and they want to destroy it. Those who want to destroy it, are they educated?. Kofi Kwae are you educated? We will follow Kofi Annan all the time. The people of Simpa love him very much,” she said.

When asked about the NDC’s Manifesto that was about to be unveiled, she said, “Everything is on point. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is on point, Kofi Annan is on point. Nothing has destroyed.”

In the video, the interviewer asked her to seek shelter from the rain to avoid falling sick but she stated, “Let me walk in it, I will not fall seek. My medications have been sent to me. He is the reason I came back from America. Last year, they organised a programme I saw online, I didn’t know him by then. His mother was the one I knew. They led me to go and greet him when I came back.”

Before she went away, she shouted “ey3 zu!” the jargon of the NDC.
