Watch highlights of how Abedi Pele destroyed Atletico Madrid in 1990

Pele ran the show for Marseille in the Coppa del Mediterraneo game, which took place in Italy.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Abedi Pele assisting Marseille’s goal with a brilliant defence-splitting pass.

He was unstoppable throughout the match, contributing both in defence and attack. His dribbling, passing, pace, strength, and resilience were displayed as he caused problems for the Spanish side.

The Coppa del Mediterraneo was a pre-season tournament that lasted four years, from 1990 to 1994.

Abedi Pele led Marseille to the final but lost to Torino, who won the maiden edition at the Stadio Marassi.

He subsequently led Marseille to the UEFA Champions League final that season but lost to Red Star Belgrade on penalties.
