Watch as emotional Stonebwoy ‘weeps’ on stage during UK concert

Ghanaian reggae/dancehall musician Stonebwoy has sparked a wave of reactions on social media following some happenings at his just-ended ‘Up & Running’ album concert in the UK.

Recently, Stonebwoy found himself at the centre of controversy when a misunderstanding erupted between his camp and the organisers of Ghana’s 68th Independence Concert. This happened after both camps scheduled their events for the same day, March 8, 2025.

The scheduling conflict led to confusion, with Stonebwoy’s team accusing the organisers of the Independence Day concert of sabotage. The BHIM Camp claimed they had originally planned for March 8 to host Stonebwoy’s album concert.

Stonebwoy faced massive backlash, with critics labelling him as greedy and accusing him of attempting to monopolise the UK-based fanbase by scheduling his concert on the same day as the highly anticipated Independence Day show.

Some even speculated that Stonebwoy was worried his concert would flop if fans chose the “star-studded” Independence Day concert over his own.

However, seemingly overwhelmed by the challenges leading up to his performance, Stonebwoy broke down on stage midway through his performance on stage at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

While performing his popular song ‘My Name,’ the dancehall musician was visibly emotional and shedding tears.

A video capturing this moment has since gone viral, sparking all forms of reactions from netizens.

Some believe that the tears were a sign of joy, given the unexpectedly large turnout at the concert.

Others have congratulated Stonebwoy for successfully drawing such a big crowd on his own.
