Watch Akufo-Addo, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Chief of Staff jam to Amakye Dede’s live performance

The president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, and many other senior citizens have been spotted in a viral social media video displaying some ‘elite’ dance moves during a live performance by legendary highlife musician Amakye Dede at the Founders’ Day luncheon hosted at the Jubilee House.

In the said video, the president and the other senior citizens were dancing to Amakye Dede’s hit singles ‘Sike ne Barima’ and ‘Akwadawesoa.’

The video did not please internet users who reacted to it.

In the comment section, the majority of the viewers accused the government of trying to rewrite the history of Ghana to serve their parochial interests.

There was a section of netizens who also questioned the necessity of the luncheon, especially when the country is in a poor economic state.

While the last group of people lamented the lack of visionary and empathetic leaders in the country.

Founders’ Day is a national public holiday observed to commemorate the contributions of all the people, notably the ‘Big Six’ who led the struggle for Ghana’s independence.

The day is commemorated every August 4.

The ‘Big Six’ include Kwame Nkrumah, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey, Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, William Ofori Atta, and Edward Akufo-Addo.
