Wassa Amenfi East MP urges new prospective voters to register and vote out NPP

The Electoral Commission has announced that it will begin a mop-up voter registration exercise starting from August 1 to 3, 2024 in all the 261 district offices of the Commission across the country.
The mop-up exercise, according to EC, is meant to give opportunity to persons who turned 18 years after the recent limited voter registration and those who could not register previously to have their names captured in the poll book.
Following the announcement, the MP for Wassa Amenfi East in the Western Region, hon. Nicholas Amankwah has call on all legible Ghanaians who have no voter identification card, to avail themselves for the registration exercise so that they can vote out the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government.
According to hon. Nicholas Amankwah, new voters especially the youth have the power to change Ghana but that to do so, they first have to get the voters ID card.
The Amenfi East MP described the upcoming December general election as a crucial effort to rescue Ghanaians from economic mismanagement under the NPP government.
The NDC MP, who is affectionately called Home Boy emphasized the need for collective civil and democratic action, likening the election to “communal labour” necessary to rescue the country.
Hon. Nicholas Amankwah was optimistic that the next NDC government will work in the interest of Ghanaians to reset Ghana and bring the economy to normalcy if his party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama is elected as president in the 2024 elections.
According to the MP, the NDC government under John Dramani Mahama, established 75 new nursing training colleges and massive hospital infrastructure throughout the country.
He said, these facilities improved student enrollment amid providing thousands of direct and indirect jobs for the Ghanaian youth, thereby reducing unemployment rate to a single digit.
Hence, the MP, who’s the parliamentary candidate for the NDC in Amenfi East mentioned that his party’s primary focus will be on job creation for the youth who are unemployed as a result of NPP carelessness and unfavorable economic policies.
Nicholas Amankwah asserted that the banking sector cleanup exercise conducted by the NPP government have resulted in loss of jobs and collapse of indigenous businesses.
The first term MP took a swipe at the NPP government for the collapse of local banks through what he described as deliberate decision on the part of the government.
He is of the view that the move is a deliberate attempt by government aimed at weakening the financial base of businesses and institutions who are not aligned with their political agenda.
