WAFU ‘B’ 2019: Black Queens to face Mali, Guinea & Nigeria

Ghana’s Black Queens have been drawn alongside the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the 2019 WAFU Zone ‘B’ women’s Cup of Nations to be held in Cote D’Ivoire in May.

The Black Queens ,who are the defending champions of the tournament ,are expected to bounce back from a disappointing show at the 2018 AWCON hosted in Ghana were they exited at the group stages of the tournament.

In the previous edition, the Black Queens defeated the hosts Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in the final to clinch the maiden edition of the tournament. This time around they will have to face Nigeria, Guinea and Mali who as well defeated the Queens in the second group game of the 2018 AWCON.

Here is a confirmation of the groupings.

Group A: Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Niger, Senegal

Group B: Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Nigeria

The dates and venues for the various games is expected to be announced at a later date.
