Sit down with your family and decide – Baffour Gyan tells Kudus on Saudi Arabia move

Retired Ghanaian footballer Baffour Gyan has advised Mohammed Kudus to consult with his inner circle regarding the reported lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club, Al Hilal.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Wontumi FM, Baffour Gyan urged the West Ham star to discuss the matter with his family before making any decisions about the deal.

Baffour Gyan explained that while Kudus is a footballing star with unanimous popularity among Ghanaians, his family is affected by his decisions, hence the need for him to involve them in the matter.

“He is a Ghanaian and we all love him, but there are some decisions that you take with your family, and this is one of them. It’s a decision he has to make with his family,” he said.

Baffour Gyan also confirmed that he played a key role in convincing his brother, Asamoah Gyan, to accept an offer to play for the Chinese side Shanghai SPG.

Asamoah Gyan, in 2015, signed a two-year deal worth £225,000 per week following his successful stint in the UAE.

Baffour Gyan acknowledged being one of the people who urged Gyan to accept the deal, stating on Wontumi FM, “I was part of those who pushed him to China.”

Asamoah Gyan admitted that it was a difficult move for him but was convinced it was the right step after consulting with his family.

“It was a difficult decision for me, but I spoke to everyone around me, and we decided it was the best move for me. Luckily, it turned out well for me, and we have managed to establish companies that are employing Ghanaians,” he said.

Reports by ESPN suggest that Al-Ittihad is looking to sign the Ghanaian for a fee of $150 million.

Additionally, the Saudi Pro League side is offering a weekly wage of $300,000 for the player.

Other perks the 23-year-old could qualify for include business class travel for his family, free accommodation, and cars.
