A delegation of Government officials led by Minister for information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has paid a visit to the late Ahmed’s family at Madina to commiserate with the family for their loss.

Ahmed Husein-Suale, who is a teammate of the award-winning investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, was shot dead at Madina in Accra Wednesday night by unknown assailants.

Addressing the family of the deceased, Mr Oppong said the government would pull its weight behind the family for due processes.

“We continue to express our condolence to the family and since the police have already begun [investigations], we will urge the public that anyone with relevant information regarding his death should assist the police with it,” he said.

The family also expressed their appreciation to the government delegation, stating that they will let the law rule in the quest for justice.

“We thank you for taking time off your busy schedule to come here and be part of what we are going through. Every activity for the completion of the funeral rites will be communicated after the burial which will be done after the Juma prayers,” a family representative said.

According to reports, the Tiger Eye PI team member was shot by unidentified men who were riding on a motorbike.

But his death has been linked to a comment by the Assin Central MP who was said to have asked his workers at his NET2 TV station to beat him [Ahmed] up if he ever stepped foot there.
