2024 Olympics: Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso expelled for indecent dressing

Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso has been expelled from the Athletes Games village for inappropriate dressing, according to myjoyonline.com.

Officials cited that Alonso was wearing clothes that exposed her body indecently and was socializing extensively with other athletes, creating an inappropriate atmosphere.

Additionally, she was seen wearing an outfit not in line with the official kit provided by Paraguay.

An email from the Olympics officials to Luana stated she was “distracting the other competitors with her skimpy choices and socialising.”

In response to these claims on her Instagram page, Alonso denied being expelled from the games village but did not disclose the exact reason for her departure.

“I just wanted to clarify that I was never kicked out or expelled from anywhere, please stop spreading false information. I don’t want to make any statement but I’m not going to let lies affect me either,” Luana said, as quoted by myjoyonline.com.

Alonso’s Olympic journey ended quickly, as she finished sixth in her 100m butterfly heat on the first day of competition.

Despite her early elimination, she continued to socialize with her fellow Paraguayan Olympians.
