Victor Osimhen sack agent Roberto Calenda after transfer disaster

Victor Osimhen has parted ways with his agent Roberto Calenda following the controversies surrounding his exit from Napoli.

The 25-year-old is reportedly displeased with Calenda’s failure to sanction his move away from the Naples-based club amid several interests from top clubs in Europe.

Elite European clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain have all reportedly been linked with a move for the Nigerian international this summer, but none of these suitors were able to secure his signature.

Calenda couldn’t facilitate Victor Osimhen’s move to either Chelsea or Al Ahli, the two frontrunners in the race for the signature of the reigning African Footballer of the Year on transfer deadline day.

The Super Eagles striker reportedly negotiated his own move to Galatasaray, agreeing to join the Turkish Super Lig side on a season-long loan from Napoli.

According to reports, Osimhen hired Turkish agent George Gardi, who served as an intermediary to facilitate the move.

Despite signing a season-long loan deal, the insertion of a break clause will allow the player to leave the club in January if a suitable offer arrives.
