Victor Boniface becomes first Nigerian to play with Ronaldo

Victor Boniface will become the first Nigerian to play in the same team with five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.
This was after the Super Eagles forward agreed to a deal that would see him leave Bayer Leverkusen for Al Nassr which Ronaldo plays for in Saudi Arabia.
He’s expected to replace Ronaldo’s former strike partner, Brazilian Anderson Talisca, who transferred to Fernabahce.
Last year, Boniface expressed his respect for Ronaldo via an Instagram post with a goat and salute Emojis.
Playing with the Portuguese will be a dream come true for the 24-year-old who arrived in Leverkusen from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise 18 months ago for 20 million euros.
During his time at Leverkusen, Boniface scored 29 goals and laid on 11 assists in 49 matches for the club. However, he has not played since picking up a hamstring injury on international duty in November.
The striker who just returned from injury a few days ago missed training ahead of Leverkusen’s Champions League clash with Sparta Prague.
“There are discussions with the club and we need to wait. We’re preparing without Boni,” coach Xabi Alonso told reporters yesterday at his press conference.
“We will see. We need to wait a bit more but our preparation is with the rest of our squad who are ready and fit and in good shape at the moment.
“It’s the last Champions League game and that’s our focus.”
