Veteran actor Albert Jackson-Davis confirmed dead

Veteran Ghanaian actor and creative, Albert Odartei Jackson-Davis has passed away after battling an undisclosed illness.

According to a report by graphic.com.gh, the news of his death, which occurred on Saturday, September 14, 2024, was confirmed on Monday by the Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Development, Akunu Dake, in a heartfelt Facebook post.

“This is very difficult for me. Rest in peace my good friend and colleague Albert Odartei Jackson-Davis. Able Deputy Executive Director during our PANAFEST years in the 1990s,” Akunu Dake wrote.

The sad news has prompted an outpouring of grief from the public and fellow creatives.

Jackson-Davis was renowned for his powerful on-screen performances, often portraying elite or affluent characters.

His acting style made him a standout figure in Ghanaian cinema. His style of dialogue delivery and his poised and articulate manner earned him respect among peers and fans alike.

Throughout his career, Jackson-Davis appeared in several notable films, including “Heritage Africa,” “The Storm,” and the popular comedy “My Very Ghanaian Wedding.”

Aside from his on-screen work, he was a significant figure behind the scenes, particularly in the 1990s when he served as the Deputy Executive Director for PANAFEST, the Pan African Historical Theatre Festival.
