USAID funds used to sponsor Sowore, Aisha Yesufu to overthrow Jonathan in 2015 – David Hundeyin Alleges

Political commentator and investigative journalist David Hundeyin has stated that Nigeria will take several more decades to reach its “golden age,” even if a credible election is held in 2027.

Hundeyin shared this perspective in a post on X on Monday, February 3, citing Ghana’s successful elections on December 7, 2024.

Reflecting on the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, he suggested that certain individuals and institutions in Nigeria were sponsored as activists to undermine former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

In a post that has sparked mixed reactions, he named political activist Aisha Yesufu, human rights lawyer Chidi Odinkalu, YIAGA Africa Executive Director Samson Itodo, and politician Omoyele Sowore as key figures involved in what he described as a deliberate effort to “de-market” President Goodluck Jonathan.

Hundeyin has previously alleged that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which former U.S. President Donald Trump sought to dismantle, was created to fund covert U.S. operations in sovereign nations.

Expressing his frustration, he wrote: “I was 25 when these people came and took over my country. I was at the peak of my life. And they stole it from me. Even if Nigerians somehow manage to do what Ghana did in 2027, the recovery to return Nigeria to where it was in 2015 will take AT LEAST another decade. That means the next time my country will be able to catch a glimpse of the glory it was starting to see in my youth, I will be nearly 50 years old. Life was successfully wasted. Thank you o Aisha Yesufu, EiENigeria, Chidi Odinkalu, Samson Itodo, Omoyele Sowore, PremiumTimesng et al.

“Your well-compensated services to the Empire at our collective expense are well appreciated. Una do well.”
