Audio: Seen GH¢25m before?: Ken Agyapong asks Fmr State Attorney over suit against him

Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong has slammed a retired Chief State Attorney, Ellen C. Kwawukume, over a GH¢25 million defamation suit she has brought against him.

According to Mr Agyapong, Madam Ellen Kwawukume may have filed the suit against him because she is “broke” and needs money hence her demand for such a huge sum of money as damages.

She didn’t live her life well and she now needs money in her retirement. Has she ever seen that amount of money she’s demanding in the suit from me? I’m not afraid of her; I’ll say more,” he said.

Has Ellen Kwawukume seen GH¢25miilion in her entire life before. She didn’t live a good life and now that she is on pension she wants to feed on my money to make a living. She should give me a break because I’m ready for her,” Mr Agyapong said on Adom TV’s Badwam on Tuesday.

Madam Ellen Kwawukume has dragged Mr Kennedy Agyapong to court for defamation.

She has sued the MP for falsely accusing her of demanding bribe from ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Ms Kwawukume is demanding GH¢25 million in general damages for the libellous and defamatory words the MP published on private media platforms between June and July 2018.

She said in his campaign dubbed, “Who watches the watchman,” the MP accused her of demanding GH¢5,000 from Mr Anas in order to handle a case she was prosecuting carelessly.

But the outspoken MP who called the bluff of the retired Chief State Attorney said he was ready to face her in court.

Mr Agyapong says he is not frightened by the suits because he has his evidence ready.

He said the man who recorded the video in the famous “Who Watches the Watchman” will be present in court with concrete evidence.

I have not defamed her in any way. Anas was the one who said those things and I only showed the video. In fact, the guy who recorded the video between her and Anas is even ready to meet them in court and we will make sure she is embarrassed for suing me. I’m not afraid of her and any other person who has dragged me to court,” he warned.
